Jane’s Cottage is prettily set amongst the oldest and quaintest cottages in the village around the church. It is tucked away from passing traffic whilst still being in the heart of the village with its teashops, pubs, restaurant and village shop. It has probably one of the best views of the village that you will find. This is an attractive and unusually spacious cottage which will suit those looking for a quiet location, yet with all of the village amenities close at hand.

The cottage is at the end of a short terrace of three properties at the edge of the churchyard, looking across the churchyard and up the main street of Askrigg. It is a traditional cottage with its beamed ceilings, open fire and slate floors, but also offers up to date facilities with Sky Plus and laptop with wireless Internet access complete with printer/scanner. The owners are regular visitors and passionately want you to enjoy your stay in this lovely, welcoming cottage.

ACCOMMODATION
Jane’s Cottage has a small entrance porch with space for coats and boots, off which is the beamed sitting room with Georgian window which floods the cottage with light. There are two very comfortable mahogany framed settees and an armchair to relax in front of the cosy open fire, along with an oak TV/video unit, nest of tables and bookcase. Here you will find abundant tourist information and local guide books, along with DVDs, books and games for your entertainment. Off the lounge is the spacious Shaker Style slate flagged dining kitchen, with oak dining table and chairs, perfect for a romantic meal for two or a meal with family or friends. From here a door leads out to the lovely alpine style garden which is a real haven, with a covered arbour, garden furniture and a large parasol. There are two bikes provided for your use, plus additional storage should you wish to bring your own bikes. The owners have provided a gas BBQ so that you can make the most of the garden during your stay.

Upstairs there is a fabulous beamed king sized room, again with the stunning views across and up the village, with king sized bed, and an antique pine triple wardrobe and dressing table-this bedroom is a real treat. There is a further twin room with antique pine wardrobe, looking out over the garden, and a house bathroom with bath with power shower over, WC, washbasin and electric shaver point.

This cottage really is a delight tucked away as it is, yet with a birds eye view of the village which is hard to beat. It is ideal as a romantic retreat for couples, yet who want the facilities of Askrigg close to hand, but is spacious enough to easily accommodate four people in comfort.
