Stockdale is a lovely old 17th Century cottage, full of charm and character, in a delightful setting on the edge of the village of Thwaite, with stunning panoramic views of both the village and of Swaledale and the hill of Kisdon. It would be hard to find a better setting for a true Yorkshire Dales holiday.

The cottage nestles within its original farm buildings and still has its traditional cobbled yard, which now makes a lovely patio, leading to the garden and hay meadows beyond. These are particularly glorious in Spring and early Summer when they are crammed with wildlife and wild flowers.

Stockdale retains many quaint and original features with its beamed ceilings, deepset windows and open fires in both living rooms, all of which combine to offer a cosy and relaxing rural retreat for a holiday in any season. It is ideal for family and friends alike who can take advantage of the flexibility given by the two living rooms and the spacious dining kitchen.

This is an excellent base for touring and visiting all parts of the National Park, with many places of interest and extensive walks either from the door or within easy reach. You also have the advantage of the Kearton Hotel nearby which is a pub/hotel/tearoom serving excellent home cooked food.

ACCOMMODATION
This is a traditional cottage with the front door in the middle and a living room either side. There is a cosy living room with a comfortable three piece suite, beamed ceiling, open fire and TV. This would have been the front parlour in past times. The cottage also has a living room, this time with two two seater settees, and a second open fire and TV. The two sitting rooms really do give you flexibility as to how you use the cottage, and gives you the option for everyone to have their own space, whilst still being able to enjoy each others company.

The spacious beamed dining kitchen, with Denby crockery, is well equipped and with a dining table that everyone can fit round and chat. A door from the kitchen leads directly into the garden, and a picnic bench with open fields beyond, so that the countryside really is just on your doorstep.

Upstairs there is a spacious double master bedroom, a second double bedroom and a spacious twin bedroom. There is also a good sized family bathroom with a separate shower and bath.
