This quirky upside down barn is an absolute delight. Topsy Turvy has a beautiful blend of contemporary style and solid old world charm with all mod cons. This is a very special holiday home where it would equally make the perfect romantic retreat for just a couple or suit a family or friends looking for somewhere to gather and relax in peace and comfort – perfect!

Upstairs, to make the most of the beamed, pitched ceilings and the views, there is a large sitting room with two comfy settees arranged around the fire, and a farmhouse style dining kitchen. Both rooms are light and airy by day but cosy in the evening with the shutters closed. Downstairs are a large king sized bedroom, a pretty twin room and a simple but fully equipped bathroom. Outside you have private parking and a patio style garden. We defy you ever to be cold in this cottage-it is one of the cosiest that we have come across.

All in all, this is a perfect Yorkshire Dales cottage for families, friends or couples.

Worton is a small hamlet about a mile from Askrigg and Bainbridge in Upper Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It has one of the few remaining classic front room pubs at The Victoria Arms, run by Ralph and Pat Daykin since 1956. This is a gem for pub lovers, truly personal and individual, with it’s stone flagged floors and roaring open fire, and Ralph sat reading the paper with his sheepdog by the fire. The Victoria Arms is not a sophisticated pub, but is one that is still true to it’s origins, where locals and travellers alike could enjoy good local ales in the comfort of the landlords own home, as you still can today. Whilst they don’t do food, this isn’t a problem as there are 3 goods pubs in Askrigg, tea shops, a village shop and a deli/bakery. Askrigg is only a short walk or drive away.

ACCOMMODATION
Topsy Turvy is a barn conversion in the quiet hamlet of Worton near Askrigg. From the entrance hall downstairs there is a staircase leading up to the first floor. On the right is the comfortable living room with two large settees, fire, a beamed ceiling and dual aspect windows looking up the valley and into the village with it’s wildflower meadow village green across the road. One of the windows has a window seat where you can soak up the sun and watch the world go by, tucked away in a corner. Also on this floor is the spacious farmhouse style dining kitchen, again with dual aspect windows and window seat.

Downstairs is a large king sized bedroom with antique style iron and metal bed and a walk in wardrobe. There is a good sized twin bedroom, again with antique style iron and brass beds, and a spacious family bathroom.

Outside there is a gated gravelled cottage garden with garden furniture and barbeque. There is space to park a car within the garden, but there is also plenty of room to park a car by the side of the road directly outside the cottage or across the road at the edge of the green.

Because of the level of insulation in Topsy Turvy, the cottage is very snug and warm.
