Minnie’s Cottage is a special and romantic cottage for couples with stunning views across Wensleydale to the flat-topped hill of Addleborough and the Roman Road above Bainbridge. There is a cosy and quaint living room with a fabulous original inglenook fireplace, king-sized bedroom, separate dressing room and a private walled garden.

Minnie’s is deservedly a Grade 2 listed cottage, built in 1834 and still has many of its original features. These include the beamed ceilings, original plank doors and snecks (the local name for door latches), deep set windows and stone shelves. It is in a lovely location next to the church in the centre of Askrigg, hidden away yet only a couple of minutes’ walk to the centre of the village and the shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Askrigg is one of those villages where you truly can park the car and throw away the keys for a few days should you so wish. You have all that the Yorkshire Dales National Park has to offer on your doorstep or a short drive away.

Minnie’s Cottage is quaint and quirky and has its own very special atmosphere-this is a cottage that definitely captures the hearts of the people who stay here.

Accommodation

The living room is warm and welcoming with the beamed ceiling festooned with horse brasses, the wonderful stone inglenook fireplace and comfortable hand-made sofa and armchair. The split level kitchen is very well equipped and hand-made to fit around the quirky walls and old stone cheese shelves. The walled garden at the back of the cottage is private and there is a utility room up a few steps into what is known as 'The Stick Hut', which is also a great storage space for your outdoor gear.
